Anna | Portraits

Ah, my poor neglected blog. Anyone out there still hanging in there with me? :-) Life has been a bit of a whirlwind lately, with lots of socializing, traveling, and... well, living. Travel posts coming your way soon...

It's been a pretty cool summer on the whole around here, which has worked out so nicely for taking pictures. Nobody likes sweltering while they're being photographed! Anna and I have been friends for several years, but have really hit it off in the past year or so. We both love books, "get" each other's sense of humor, and adore a good dose of British wit. :-) Basically, she's a kindred spirit. Plus, I'm a photographer, and she's photogenic, which means photo-shooting is inevitable!

It's fun when your friends have fabulous leather satchels...

Kerry | Headshots

It might be a new Thanksgiving tradition that I update my cousin Kerry's head shots. :-) I certainly wouldn't mind - she's beautiful and photogenic and hilarious. It was freezing cold and snowing this year so we only had a few minutes outside, but the light and the colors were perfect!

Masquerade Styled Shoot | Preview

Whew! What a month! I had a whirlwind of people fitting in pictures before it turned cold (and just in time - my last shoot was frigid!). Thank you all for bearing with me while I got the mountain of work done and biggest thanks to my clients for patiently waiting a little longer than usual for their photos!!

One of the fun projects I worked on was this styled portrait session. A crazily over the top purple dress, a ballerina model and a masquerade theme made for a very fun morning! I'll be sharing more soon!

Thanks to Laura from Lemondrop Designery for coming up with this shoot and
Melody for being our lovely model!

Emily | Recital Poster Shoot

If you've been around this blog for a while, you'll recognize Emily. She was one of the very first people to let me experiment on her for a "real" portrait session, and I also did her junior recital photos with her recital partner. Hard to believe 2 years have passed already since taking those!

And even harder to believe that Emily is at the end of her studies at MBI! We've been friends since we were 3 and 4, so every new phase of life feels like we're not old enough to be there yet. :-) She's graduating next month and this past weekend had her senior recital - it was a gorgeous and flawless performance!

I love the rock bed and how her dress mimics a waterfall!

Raeanne | Portraits

I've known Raeanne for years... we more or less grew up together. She's the one responsible for making a harpist out of me. :-) I saw her play long ago and fell in love with the instrument, and then she let me play on her smaller harp for over a year to find out if I really wanted to play it. She's been an immense blessing to me and she is incredibly beautiful and talented into the bargain! Sometime we'll have to do a longer shoot!
