Woodstock on the Square

I'm so excited to share today's post with you all. Earlier this week my sister, two of our very dear friends, and I did a photoshoot on the historic Woodstock Square. It works out perfectly because Laura and I are the camera-toting big sisters who have gorgeous little sisters with fabulous modeling skills. Since I take pictures of Tara all the time and could do another shoot with her whenever I want, I got to photograph Kristen for the majority of the time.

I felt like this shoot was a breakthrough in my portrait photography experience! I had a ridiculous amount of fun and as the girls can tell you, I happy-danced my way through the day. :-) How can you get any better than gorgeous light in alleyways, brick walls, columns and a beeeautiful gal to stick in front of said objects? (not to mention the beeeautiful gal was wearing turquoise earrings! Ahhh!).

All right, enough of my chatter and on to the pictures!

I think they should make a CD because then they could use this picture for the jacket.
:-)

Starting off on a light note... Tara pretending to drink from the pipe and Kristen sneaking some chocolate

There was a fortissimo on the door! :-)

Her eyes are a.m.a.z.i.n.g.

Photos of the photographer are a necessity... Laura always insists she's not photogenic. As you see, that's a whole lot of baloney (Laura, don't try to comment and disagree with me. It would not be nice to start a blog argument).

Laura, I loooove your smile and laugh!

That one on the right is a one of my favorites!!!

EYES!

I loved this spot

Adorable.

There is this fabulouso door up over 5 feet above the ground.
So cool.

All right, here comes what I THINK is my favorite sequence from the day. I'm not 100% sure because then I go look at the others and I love them just as much. But these do make me very, very happy.

Can she get any cuter?

We left the square and stopped at a bridge on the way home. It was gorgeous!

I took the photos below on Laura's Nikon... which is simply incredible. And that's from a Canon girl.

The left one makes me think of a woodland fairy fixing her hair by the stream. :-)

The last one is another favorite

Thanks so much, Laura & Kristen, for doing such a fun shoot with us! I already can't wait for next time. :-)

Review: Fracture

Okay, folks, this is one of the neatest ways on the market to display photographs in your home (or office or wherever). How would you like to have your photos printed on glass?? Yep, you heard me. Fracture prints your photo directly on glass, with your choice of border (or without a border entirely, as you see I chose... I like edge-to-edge printing :-), and you get the choice of wall mount or stand-up mount.

Fractures come in several different sizes... 8", 10", 12", 14" and 18", measured diagonally. They also offer custom services if you have another size in mind!

I received a 10" and an 18" Fracture to review, and as I was aware of their products previously and consequently knew they were nice :-), I went ahead and ordered two additional ones to send to grandparents.

The Fractures arrived securely packaged in a unique stacked package, containing sturdy black cardboard "nests" for the photos. It's really very nice presentation, so if you had ordered for a client you could present them to the client right out of the package and you'd look very professional doing it. :-)

The colors produced in the photographs are very vibrant and the images sharp. A little card that came with them claims that "some call it the 'HD-TV of picture frames,'" and I think that's a pretty good description. Unlike a traditional framed photo, where the glass window dims the photo slightly, Fractures seem to get their vibrance from the glass... probably because that's what it's printed on. :-)

I chose wall mounts for mine, since I figure that leaves me the freedom of hanging it on the wall or displaying it on a stand. They come with a screw and a built in hole in the back of the frame for easy and invisible hanging (both of which virtues I highly esteem - ease and invisibility... as far as hanging frames goes).

Fractures are surprisingly affordable, especially when you compare it to wrapped canvases. Though I do love the look of canvas, this is equally beautiful in its own way and much easier on the purse. :-)

So... the conclusion. Would I buy Fractures? Well, silly question, since I already did. :-) And I would definitely buy from them again in the future. Fractures are a beautiful, sleek and modern way to "frame" and display photos... check them out! Fracture has generously offered a 10% off coupon to all my readers - just enter the code PRAIRIEROSE at checkout up to August 1, 2012.

*Disclaimer: I received the products mentioned in exchange for writing a review.  I was under no obligation to write a positive review. The opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I Heart Faces - All Boy

I haven't done I Heart Faces in a while... I thought it'd be fun to enter again. With the theme of All Boy... well, you can't get much more boyish than baseball, can you?
