Allie | Newborn
Last month Wendy and I were privileged to be able to do a newborn session for one of the families from church. Though this one went a little differently than our previous one, in that little Miss Allie screamed her head off for the first 2/3 of the shoot, I still really enjoyed myself and would definitely like to do more newborns in future. Babies... I love 'em. And I tend to want to adopt every single one that I hold. Thankfully their mothers intervene or I'd have one full house...
Big Sister wanted to help :-)
And remembered her modeling skills from last time! :-)
We convinced Mom to get in front of the camera and I'm so glad she did!

Why I've Been Too Busy to Post
I realize I have neglected my poor blog shamefully of late... but, behold, I have a host of legitimate excuses.
1. Every moment of spare time last week was spent sewing on my 1912 evening gown, which I finished only hours before I wore it to...
2. Our Titanic Ball. Since this year marked the 100th anniversary of the Titanic, we had a Titanic themed ball and everyone came dressed up in 1912 attire, or as close to it as they were able to achieve. It was lovely. And did not leave time for blogging.
3. I had a birthday. I thought the day would play out that I'd have lunch and shopping with Wendy, and then I could come home and probably sew some more. Instead I was surprised by 10 other friends waiting for me in the restaurant (I love you girls!!). It was a lovely birthday. I could now sell my baby clothes on Etsy as "vintage." (And people say 20 isn't old... *winks*)
4. Lily stayed over with us for almost a week after the ball so we could work on her website, and do fun things like antique shopping.
That brings us to today. I'll leave you with one picture I took of the delightful R. family just before we headed to the ball, in their incredible 1912 ensembles. Their amazingness always amazes me. :-)

Come back soon (hopefully soon, I'll do my best...) for some newborn sweetness!

Puppyness
The fluffball continues to be a frequent photography subject... he'll only be a puppy once, after all, so you've got to take the photos while you can. Already since these photos he's had a haircut and looks less puppy-like.

The World is Coming to Life Again
Though I'm not as crazy about nature photography as I used to be, when spring comes I still usually get the urge to go out and capture plants and flowers as they come back to life. Here are a few of my favorites from this past week or two!

An Elegant Hand
A few months ago while waiting for our flight to leave to come home from vacation, we decided to shop around the little stores in the airport. Oddly enough, there was a used bookstore - not exactly what you'd expect to find in an airport! There was a fairly large antique book section, and we picked up this book of poetry. Inside it has a name inscribed in such lovely writing. I'm now ashamed of my handwriting. :-) Why aren't people taught to write like this anymore? Look at that delicious B. *swoons*
Speaking of beautiful penmanship, though... there are some people who can still write with the elegance of bygone years. And I happen to know an expert. You should really check out The Constant Scribe. I just go on there and drool over the gorgeous calligraphy.
With the amazingly beautiful weather I'm scheming photo shoots, but we'll see if I can actually make it happen!
